Craig Wade, M.D., was born and raised in Mississippi, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Although he is a doctor now, he didn’t start his medical career as a doctor. He began his medical career in the field of nursing from 1997-2006 in Mississippi and California. While serving as a nurse, he also held various supervisory positions in critical care and the emergency department.
His desire to help patients led to his pursuit in becoming a doctor. He took his family to Bridgetown, Barbados to live and study medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Wade completed medical school in 2011 and went on to his Internal Medicine residency training with Louisiana State University at Leonard J Chabert Medical Center from 2011-2014. While living and completing his training, the Wade family became rooted in the community and decided to call Houma their permanent home. Dr. Wade joined the TGMC active medical staff in 2014. Upon establishing himself as a doctor in Houma, DR. Wade opened his own clinic, Preferred Health and Wellness, a few blocks from TGMC. Dr. Wade maintains his affiliation with TGMC meaning he has admitting privileges at that hospital.
Dr. Wade enjoys activities with his wife and three children. While attending Ross University, he managed to play on a two-time championship flag football team. In addition, he enjoys college and NFL football, church activities, riding in Mardi Gras parades, mountain biking and attending church and their activities.
He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Student Association, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Ross Christian Fellowship and Ross Emergency Medical Services.
Please note: Dr. Wade left TGMC to open his own clinic. “Preferred Health and Wellness” in September 2019, but still holds affiliations and privileges with the hospital. And of course the office phone changed 293-2300.
